The Movement

The Moms are leading the fight to democracy!

While some leaders peddle empty words, Mothers for Democracy are harnessing #MomPower to demand results on a livable climate, equitable schools and an end to gun violence. We are awakening civic participation across this land, from school boards to halls of Congress. Where leaders have faltered, we mothers will strive to fill the void.

But our fight is not just for our own families – it is for freedom and equality for one another.

United as an unstoppable force, this movement of maternal activism will shake the roots of injustice until all people in America can thrive. The time has come for leaders to heed our charge or move aside for mothers at the forefront of progress.

The Six Pillars

Caring for families now while looking towards the future.

We have identified six crucial issues that directly impact families’ well-being and livelihoods across this great nation. Within these pillars lies our focus and determination to see justice realized on the issues of common sense gun safety, quality public schools, climate action, healthcare access, LGBTQ rights and voting protections. We know that by prioritizing these cornerstone concerns—which hold communities together and allow children to simply be children—a more compassionate future comes into view. Unite with us as we work to expand America’s promise of possibility for all.

As mothers, protecting our children is our highest priority. But far too many families across America know the unthinkable horror of gun violence all too well. We have joined together in Mothers for Democracy to put up a united fight for common-sense laws that respect responsible gun owners while taking dangerous weapons out of dangerous hands.

Our leaders in Washington must listen to what the people are demanding – we want a safe America for our children to grow up in, free from fear of the next tragedy. It is time they put politics aside and honor their duty to pass measures that will save lives, such as expanding background checks and banning assault weapons. The safety of American families needs to be a priority.

Every child in this country, no matter where they live, deserves access to a high-quality public education that sets them up to achieve their dreams. But so many of our school systems are under attack. Resources are stretched thin due to lack of funding and diverted to private schools with little oversight. Our children are facing book bans and restrictions on what they can even learn.

Teachers, who are mostly women, battle low pay while shouldering more expectations. As mothers, we cannot stand by as public education is undermined. It is time we make our voices heard and demand the robust, equitable school systems our children need to thrive.

The next generation deserves nothing less than our full support for public schools nationwide.

As mothers, few things worry us more than the threat of climate change. The science is undeniable – if we fail to act now to rein in greenhouse gas emissions, it is our children who will face catastrophic consequences. Yet too many in power seem content wasting time on distracting culture wars rather than addressing this crisis.

Mothers for Democracy is demanding bold action. We will fight for major investments in renewable energy and green infrastructure that create good jobs while protecting future generations. Clean air, water and a livable planet – these are basic needs our leaders must urgently work to secure. Our children’s lives are quite literally at stake. We will not stop until this issue receives the serious leadership it deserves.

As mothers, and others like us, we know that family planning decisions must rest with each woman and her loved ones. Women’s bodies are not political bargaining chips. Mothers for Democracy stands up for a woman’s right to make her own choices about her maternity journey, medical care and family’s future without interference. We are here to amplify the voices of women fighting for what’s best for themselves, their own bodies, and their families.

As parents, all we want is for our children to feel safe, valued and able to fully be themselves. But LGBTQ youth face mounting discrimination and prejudice in their schools and communities. They are targets of harmful rhetoric and legislation claiming to protect from threats that do not exist. Mothers for Democracy stands firmly with our LGBTQ loved ones. We celebrate love in all forms and will oppose rhetoric that stokes fear and division.

Our allies in the community have been stripped of basic rights to healthcare, adoption and affirming services against the spirit of true justice. We vow to counter dangerous propaganda with compassion. And we will advocate at all levels for nondiscrimination protections ensuring freedom for people of all identities to live and love openly without reprisal. A society embracing our differences with kindness is what we owe both today’s youth and future generations.

Each of us deserves to have our voices heard through fair and accessible elections. But across the country, unjust laws aim to silence marginalized communities. Mothers for Democracy pledges to overcome all efforts at voter suppression and ensure every eligible citizen can make their vote count.

We will advocate for automatic voter registration, early voting periods, vote-by-mail options, Election Day holidays, and polling sites on college campuses and in underserved neighborhoods. We will not accept so-called “election integrity” bills that serve only to overturn unfavorable results. We will safeguard against partisan gerrymandering that undermines true representation. By making reforms like online registration simple and elections accommodating for all, we aim to strengthen civic participation from youth to our elders.

Only through enfranchising every American can we uphold democracy as a government of, by, and for the people.

Empowering Women

Mothers for Democracy is amplify the voices of women, mothers, and families who are pushing back about the ongoing cultural war discourse.

We are forging connections and partnerships with mothers nationwide, empowering them with the tools and knowledge to counteract divisive culture war issues. Our approach will soon involve comprehensive training sessions for women, equipping them with the means to advocate for womens rights, public education, climate action and family social justice causes. We believe in fostering a sense of community, cultivating resilience through education, and providing unwavering support for activism. Our mission is to empower these women to be strong advocates for change, ultimately shaping a more inclusive and equitable society. We hope to give a voice to those who feel they don’t have a voice in politics.

Together we will keep hate out of politics for all our families.
